Ronald J. Swatzyna, Ph.D., L.C.S.W. is the Director of Neurotherapy and has worked for the Tarnow Center for Self-Management in Houston for eight years. Dr. Swatzyna received his Masters and Doctorate from The University of Texas at Arlington in Social Work. He also is Board Certified in Biofeedback and Neurotherapy, a Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor, a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist and most recently has become a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer. Of his 14 years in practice, Dr. Swatzyna worked the first four years in an inpatient psychiatric hospital treating children and adolescents in crisis. He has published and presented (nationally and internationally) his research in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, children’s nutrition, children’s psychopathology, and most recently, the clinical application of QEEG to guide psychiatric medication selection and titration. Dr. Swatzyna specializes in diagnostically challenging patients who do not respond well to medication and often have multiple diagnoses.
